THIS VIDEO WALKS YOU THROUGH THE EYEBROW TATTOO PROCESS FROM CLIENT'S PERSPECTIVE.
BE SURE TO CHECK OUT PART 2 TO SEE THE END RESULT! (Spoiler: It's not microblading!)
The short answer is, forever! Tattoos have the potential to last forever, however permanent makeup is designed to fade and lighten in color over time. Touchups are recommended anywhere from 1 to 3 years. Following good aftercare also plays a huge role in how well your results look.
All tattoos fade but many factors determine the rate at which they fade including sun exposure, topical skin care products such as Retinol, hydroxy acids etc, medications for thyroid, iron-deficiencies, metabolism One main factor has to do with the type of pigment and how much is placed int the skin. Semi-permanent makeup should be done with iron oxide pigments for a quicker /lighter fade.
*Small traces of the tattoo have the potential to last forever.
This will vary according to each individual’s pain threshold. However, topical anesthetics are used to numb the area and minimize discomfort. Most people describe a mild stinging or pricking sensation.
To minimize discomfort:
No, we may trim a few stray hairs, but leave the majority of the brow hairs in tact to work with them in creating the most natural looking result. If you wish, you may tweeze or wax the stray hairs up to 2 days prior to your appointment.
We draw all of our techniques on beforehand. A drawing will depict the size, placement, and curvature but it does not mimic the exact color, texture, or minute details within the tattoo itself. To ensure you are happy with the shape, design, and over all color (even if not exact) you will have several opportunities to see your design and make adjustments. If you have any reservations about the tattoo you are getting it is your responsibility to inform your artist so the changes can be made PRIOR to approving your design and going forward. Once you agree on the design you will be photographed with your stencil and a “thumbs up” next to your design indicating you “APPROVE”. We want clients to take part in the design and ultimately make the decision to whether or not to move forward rather than feel they need to wear something they will never like. Keep in mind, a professional artist will and should make suggestions for design. If you are not comfortable with the possibility of professional suggestions that may differ from what you typically wear, you may not be ready for tattooing.
The area in question must be seen by the artist first in order to determine if the area is able to be tattooed. In some cases, tattoo removal may be the best option in order to move forward in making your permanent look great! Please e-mail clear, well lit photos without any makeup on the area to RebelPMU@gmail.com.
Absolutely! We only use single use, disposable needles and supplies. This means that each set-up for each new client is discarded safely afterwards. Each station is thoroughly disinfected before opening and after each treatment. Allergic reactions to permanent cosmetic procedures are extremely rare. The cosmetic pigments are made from completely natural ingredients, and disposable sterile needles and surgical gloves are used for each procedure. However, micro-pigmentation is a skin invasive procedure. It is extremely important to consult an experienced professional technician who is licensed, qualified and conscientious.
Please click here for after-care instructions. There is no need to take off work or hide in the house after having your new permanent makeup done. You will look great and there is no down time. You shouldn't experience any bruising and will only have very minimal swelling. You can go out to dinner the same day — just don't drink alcohol because it makes you sweat, bleed (unlikely), bruise, and worse of all, it leads you to make questionable decisions like touching your face with dirty hands!
Most clients leave the appointment with little to no redness. The numbing solution used during the appointment helps to control any swelling or redness which means you can continue your day with no funny looks or questions. Clients even come on their lunch hour and return to work directly after the appointment. Your results will vary depending on skin type, lifestyle and the immediate and long-term aftercare of your new tattoo.
This is very dependent upon the amount of work performed. Also, some people swell more than others. During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding. This is definitely client specific.
Many people take blood thinners on a daily basis so some slight bleeding would be expected. Others show little or no signs of bleeding. Bruising is rare but again, if a person is on blood thinners, bruising could occur. What is seen more often is that eyebrows rarely if ever produce any bruising. Minor bruising during eyeliner procedures is possible if the skin being tattooed is very thin and close to the vascular system. This also applies to lip procedures in the event the client is more mature. If bruising does occur, typically it is minor and subsides in a few days. There is usually some tenderness for a few days. The color is much darker than you may expect for the first six to ten days.
Other less often reported side effects are difficult to determine due to the individuality of each person’s biological system. This is why professional permanent cosmetic technicians require a client history profile be filled out to assess different factors that may contribute to your experience after the tattooing procedure has been completed.
Although the procedure is considered permanent, these procedures do have flexibility in changing color and shape to some extent, depending on the expertise of your technician. Colors will appear darker immediately following the procedure but will soften and lighten during the healing process. The healing time is different for each individual and procedure. It’s very important to realize that often the new procedure represents something somewhat different; at times color where there was no color at all or very little.
It takes time to become acclimated to a new look (very often this applies to eyebrows which were sparse and unnoticeable before the permanent cosmetic brow procedure.) Eyeliner color is more evident due to the contrast to the skin color. Lip color can take up to six weeks to reflect the final color. After tattooing and peeling the skin has to heal and go through a cell regeneration process you’re seeing the milky new cells immediately under the tattoo. The pigment is underneath these new cells and it takes up to four weeks for it to shine through them. Most permanent cosmetic colors are not primed with white so there should be a transparency to them, which is what causes them to look soft and natural on the skin. That's why the healing process is a little different with the body tattoo versus a permanent cosmetics tattoo. Don’t worry. Color will start to reappear around week 4.
Be patient and trust the process. After the procedure has healed, and you are able to make an informed decision about the healed version of the procedure. Not every person heals the same way therefore results can not predicted, foreseen, or guaranteed.

Microblading is a form of a cosmetic permanent makeup (cosmetic tattooing) performed using, a manual (not a machine) disposable handheld tool, composed with very fine needles resembling the shape of a blade (we call it a microblade), to hand draw each individual hair and simultaneously implant the pigment into the skin.
